Kindness helps. Kindness heals. POSITIVELY!

I write about the power of kindness often because I feel that the world needs it more than ever.  Messages and stories about acts of kindness warm our hearts and touch our souls.  They bring us together collectively as human beings.  We want to share these stories; we want to be a part of these stories; we want these stories to heal the world.

We can always show more kindness towards one another.

Together, let’s show some kindness towards those:

Who work proudly, who seek work, who represent hope, who pick up our garbage, who teach our children, who raised us, who tried their best, who let us merge, who are frustrated, who are sad, who ring in our groceries, who smile at us for no reason, who make us laugh, who compliment us, who include us, who encourage us, who say nothing, who say nothing positive, who take a chance, who take no chances, who take our tickets, who greet us, who keep in touch with us, who are scared, who are alone, who appear to have it all, who have very little, who spread happiness, who do not yet know true happiness, who dwell on “the negative”, who celebrate “the good”, who drive our taxi/bus, who farm the land, who give back, who build, who repair, who clean up, who feed, who care, who  pump our gas,  who want to learn, who get help, who ask for help, who need help but are scared to ask, who are lost, who are found, who are searching, who are struggling, who are confused, who volunteer , who heal, who seek healing, who fall down, who get back up, who handle our luggage, who follow their dreams, who believe in possibilities, who check us in, who practice non-judgment, who are fair, who keep us safe, who seek justice, who provide, who share, who reach out, who reach in, who love, who are looking for love, who spread kindness, who are looking for kindness.  And together, let’s show that kindness TODAY.

I’m sure many of you are aware of the devastating wildfire in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada and area.  The entire city (80,000+ people) has been evacuated and over 1,600 homes and buildings have been destroyed.  There are numerous stories circulating of the kindness, generosity and humanity of people and organizations towards those impacted by this tragedy.   I personally made a donation through the Canadian Red Cross (www.redcross.ca) and this took me less than 2 minutes to process.   There are uplifting stories of airlines, businesses, community groups, individuals, corporations and volunteer organizations who have selfishly reached out with acts of kindness and support.  There are hundreds of brave people who are at the scene doing what they can to ensure the safety of all involved and to minimize the impact of this wildfire.  Thank you to everyone who has stepped up to do what they can.  Please join me in sending prayers and support to all involved.

Together in kindness,

Caron

Choose to “BE THE GOOD”.

Good things happen in our own lives, around us and out in the world every day.  Focusing on what is good in our lives is a very healthy habit…and it sure makes the challenges easier to deal with!  Purposefully looking for and acknowledging the positive creates a shift in how we see situations, including our own.  It affects our thinking, our behaviour, our actions and ultimately, our lives.  Following this practice does not mean that we won’t experience setbacks of any sort, it means that we purposefully choosing to live and THRIVE.    The fantastic thing is that it’s not too late for anyone to make this transformational change.

Last week, I wrote about living our “what ifs” and 9 ways to start taking action towards living them (https://www.goodandkindcompany.com/9-simple-ways-to-start-taking-action-towards-living-your-what-ifs/).  I received some great feedback from people who shared their own “what ifs” with me and the changes they are implementing to realize their goals.  Thank you!!  Every single one of us has different “what ifs”.  Choose those that add to your personal growth and then start taking action.  Choose to forgive someone, to reach out to someone you’ve been thinking of, to be more loving to yourself and others, to face a fear, to start that project, to be more kind, to compliment yourself and others more, to be more respectful, to celebrate more, to have spontaneous fun, to understand more, to live with less, to laugh more, to not judge others, to listen more and talk less, to see the beauty in the world, to speak positively, to be more compassionate. Choose to BE THE “GOOD”.

When we choose to “BE THE GOOD” and live with compassion and kindness, people change, awesome happens, thinking changes, spirits soften, opportunities reveal, healing happens, situations change, connection happens, hope appears and love happens. – Caron Keens

Kindness and compassion affects the recipient of the act, the doer of the act, the observers, those who hear about it, those who read about it, those who share it and those who watch it on TV or social media.  The ripple effect just keeps going and going, spreading all that super cool rockin’ awesomeness to those in its path. Now that’s something good worth celebrating!
