The time of your life……….the life of your time.

The topic for my post for this week changed direction and became very clear to me after yesterday’s events.

We received a phone call that our daughter and her best friend were in a very bad car accident.  This is one of the worst calls that anyone can receive.  By the grace of god, divine intervention, miracles of angels – call it what you will, they walked away with minor injuries.  Two families are counting their blessings today and as before, we will continue to live our lives in love and gratitude daily.  I recognize that other stories turn out quite differently than ours did.  For those of you out there, I send you light and love.

How quickly things can change in all of our lives.  I wrote the words “love the life of your time” in my journal about a week ago, just capturing another “thought passing through”.  This brings me to a gentle reminder for you today.

Live the time of your life.

Please live the time of your life as fully as possible.  Notice people, show compassion and kindness, do good, reach out to family and friends regularly, reconnect with one another, do your best to forgive, practice non-judgement, make amends and make a difference.  Do, try, learn, grow, redo if you have to, retry and be proud of that, evolve, recharge, refresh, rethink and keep going.  Be brave, speak your truth, live with passion and share your story because you matter!

Love the life of your time.

Please love the life of your time the best that you can.  No one knows how much time we have here.  Celebrate you, celebrate others and celebrate the gift of sharing in this life together.  Have fun, be silly, colour, doodle, draw, do a happy dance, sing, play, laugh lots and write.  Care for yourself, care for others, appreciate yourself and others, respect yourself and others and encourage yourself and others.    Believe and dream, believe in your dreams, and move confidently in the direction of your dreams!

Here’s to our “lifetime”!

With blessings, love, light and gratitude,

The Gift of You……

We sometimes need to remind ourselves that we are not defined by our “stuff”, by where we are and what “our job is”.  Our true identity  resides within…….a light and essence that makes each of us unique.

Make amends and peace with your past and your put your focus on the present moment and the gift of “you”.  Remember that you can choose your thoughts and you have great power in that regard.

Be kind to yourself – you are so deserving of that.   Be kind to others as they deserve that as well.  Do your best to not judge others by what you see, hear or read.  Many of them have “stuff” going on that you know nothing about.  There are very, very few people who have “perfect” lives; many of us are scared to talk about our failures, challenges and fears.  Yet it’s exactly those experiences that connect us all.

Do the best you can, with what you have and where you are.  You are here and now for exactly that purpose!

In gratitude from you biggest fan,

The gift of you. #kind #grateful #shine #light #essence #wonder (3)

That Person is Someone……

First of all, let me say that I do not regularly (if ever) write poetry!  So that is why when the following words suddenly appeared to me in the middle of the night on March 16, I was taken aback.  As I have mentioned in previous “awesome news” posts, I always have my journal with me so that I can capture ideas and “thoughts passing through”.  I sluggishly jotted down these words as quickly as I could in my incoherent state.  And then I fell back asleep…..

The next morning, I tried to wrap my head around what I had scribbled in my journal.  As many of you know, I am on a journey of creating hope and happiness in the world with my little grassroots movement, A Good & Kind Company.  I have been very vocal about the fact that we all need to care for ourselves (mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually) so that we can be better equipped to care for others.  Caring for ourselves is not selfish, it’s responsible.  And the awesome person that you are……is so totally worth it!

Each one of us has stories and situations that have made us who we are and brought us to this moment.  Be kind to yourself.  Know that you did the best you could, with what you knew and where you were.  You are full of opportunity; you have the power to choose your thoughts; you have the power to realize your dreams and you certainly can change your story!  You are someone.  Be kind to yourself and then get out there and share your unique awesomeness with a world that needs you more than ever.

What is one way that YOU care for YOURSELF?  This is a perfect opportunity to share resources on caring for ourselves.  And I am quite confident that your helpful suggestion may be exactly what another person needs to hear right now.

In friendship & gratitude,

PS:    I have had many, many people ask me…..what is it that you do, why do you do it, who are you doing it for, and you really left your full time job to do it?  I sincerely appreciate these questions and I am in the process of also writing an “awesome news” post to share my “story”….
