The time of your life……….the life of your time.

The topic for my post for this week changed direction and became very clear to me after yesterday’s events.

We received a phone call that our daughter and her best friend were in a very bad car accident.  This is one of the worst calls that anyone can receive.  By the grace of god, divine intervention, miracles of angels – call it what you will, they walked away with minor injuries.  Two families are counting their blessings today and as before, we will continue to live our lives in love and gratitude daily.  I recognize that other stories turn out quite differently than ours did.  For those of you out there, I send you light and love.

How quickly things can change in all of our lives.  I wrote the words “love the life of your time” in my journal about a week ago, just capturing another “thought passing through”.  This brings me to a gentle reminder for you today.

Live the time of your life.

Please live the time of your life as fully as possible.  Notice people, show compassion and kindness, do good, reach out to family and friends regularly, reconnect with one another, do your best to forgive, practice non-judgement, make amends and make a difference.  Do, try, learn, grow, redo if you have to, retry and be proud of that, evolve, recharge, refresh, rethink and keep going.  Be brave, speak your truth, live with passion and share your story because you matter!

Love the life of your time.

Please love the life of your time the best that you can.  No one knows how much time we have here.  Celebrate you, celebrate others and celebrate the gift of sharing in this life together.  Have fun, be silly, colour, doodle, draw, do a happy dance, sing, play, laugh lots and write.  Care for yourself, care for others, appreciate yourself and others, respect yourself and others and encourage yourself and others.    Believe and dream, believe in your dreams, and move confidently in the direction of your dreams!

Here’s to our “lifetime”!

With blessings, love, light and gratitude,

Caron

Something worth sharing. Thank you.

It never ceases to amaze me when I come up with a theme/idea to write about.  I receive so many “signs” that tell me to just go with it.  Today’s article is no exception.

It appears as though there is a Global/World/International Thank You Day.  How interesting and awesome and how does one go about securing a unique date to celebrate a topic anyways?  I would like to give a shout out to those who organize the related events, increase awareness and promote change.  But I really want to be known for living a “thank you life”, for noticing and acknowledging people, and for encouraging others to live a “thank you life” as well.  Yes, that’s what I really want and  I hope you do too.
Thank you for:

  • Children who make us proud – grandchildren who keep us young
  • (Re)connecting with relatives & friends
  • Spouses/partners who complete us
  • Those who held our hand, lifted us up, carried us
  • Mothers, fathers, guardians and in-laws who inspire
  • Sisters and brothers and the fun memories of youth
  • Those who believe, those who challenge, those who encourage
  • Students, teachers, mentors, classmates
  • Childhood friends
  • Friends who stay and keep in touch
  • Those who show up and those who go
  • All the cousins, aunts and uncles
  • Employers who lead, co-workers who help, staff who go above and beyond, customers and clients
  • The healers, the caregivers
  • Those who dream and share their dreams
  • Brothers and sisters-in-law and the nieces and nephews
  • Those who listen, those who help, those who give, those who are there
  • Grandparents who dance and win at cards
  • Neighbours and connections
  • Sons-in-law and daughters-in-law who care
  • The brave, the honest, the vulnerable, the change-makers
  • The amazing people who cross our paths with awesomeness
  • Those we don’t know who show kindness and compassion
  • Those who need us, those who trust us, those who share their stories and truths
  • The lessons, celebrations, opportunities, courage and life-changing relationships.

Grow with the Flow!!

I am sure you have heard the expression “go with the flow”………just taking things as they come with a sense of acceptance, ease, calmness and perhaps, complacency.  Ridin’ along the wave of life!

I bet you have also heard the expression “it is what it is”.  I’m not even 100% sure what this means except that I hear it very often.  I hope this expression doesn’t mean we can’t experience life differently or put another way, change the way we think?  Maybe we can learn from “what is” by taking time to be quiet, listen and watch.  What can we learn when we step back from “the wave”?  The people, the situations, the actions, the reactions, the deeper meaning, the truth, the connections, the purpose and the lessons.

We have such power in our own thoughts, words and deeds.  Pause when you need to, honour yourself, know that you are doing the best you can with where you are and what you know.  Be kind to yourself and trust your journey.  LEARN!  Refresh, rethink, redo, revive – grow with the flow of life!

Harness the positive love, light and kindness from those who cross your path and silently offer some of this energy to those in need.  The unseen exchange (let’s call it “flow”) will gift you with peace and happiness and will most likely affect another person in miraculous and totally awesome ways.

Here’s to your unique journey which includes a first class ticket and front row seat to growing with the flow!

Together in “the flow”,

Caron

It’s a Wonder(full) Life!

I love the word WONDER(FULL).

I created this fun change to the word “wonderful” not so long ago (yes indeed, another middle of the night epiphany!)

Wonder(full) – full of wonder.  How can we not be filled with wonder when we look at and experience the magic that surrounds us every day?  We can be quick to forget this when we are going through stressful circumstances.  Situations such as our job (or lack of), relationships, finances, regret, anxiety, over-extending ourselves, health, school, purpose, and all the other challenges that may come our way during life.  Trust me, I get it – I truly do.  I have personally experienced almost everything I have listed above!

Sure we can’t be or feel “wonderful” everyday, but we can certainly be full of wonder everyday.  Simply pause, take some deep breaths and look around you.  What haven’t you noticed before?  Be curious.  Can you see things differently?  Be passion-filled.  Can you make a small change?  Be brave and confident.  Just allow yourself to experience a few peaceful moments of gratitude.  This won’t eliminate difficult situations, but being full of wonder sure makes it all easier to handle.  And that’s a big step towards change and happiness.

As we groove into summer…….the warmer weather and longer days, we are definitely “wowed” by wonder(full).  Fresh mornings with a nice warm coffee, amazing lake days, visiting around the camp fires, last minute barbecues with anyone who can join in, road trips with the windows open, flip flops and ball caps, warm fragrant breezes, camping and enjoying the beauty of nature, evening walks with friendly greetings along the way, the lush and bountiful gardens, the breath-taking sunsets, the stunning colours of summer blooms, fishing with great friends and singing those awesome summer songs like a rock star (well, I do that and I’m sure you do too!)

Never lose your sense of wonder and remember that it’s absolutely never too late to live the wonder(full) life you deserve.

Yours in wonder & possibility,

Caron

P.S.      A bit of trivia about me…..coincidentally “It’s A Wonderful Life”, the classic film produced and directed by Frank Capra is my favourite movie!

P.P.S    I would like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to Eric Saperston from Live In Wonder!  I had the privilege of meeting the amazing Eric a few years ago and I highly recommend his book “Live in Wonder”.  I believe that you will find his Live In Wonder project to be quite inspiring, just as I do.  Check it out at https://www.liveinwonder.com

You. Here. Now.

You are here …….in this moment of now.

Wherever your here and now is, pause to reflect on your power to just let it be with all that makes you unique!  Use each one of your senses to embrace and live in the present moment.

Do your best to not allow the past to totally consume your mind or you will overlook the moment in time you now have.  Likewise, if you are fully living in the future and your mind is most often there – anticipating, hoping, wondering, worrying – you are not honouring the “now”.

Slow down and tune in to “YOU. HERE. NOW”.  It is quite likely that you will see and experience life differently than you ever did before!

To small & good kinda’ changes,

Caron

Have more. With less.

Have more.  With less.  This simple change will simply change you!

Let’s talk about the “s” word……Stuff!

This is a popular topic these days.  All of our “stuff”.  The things that are clamouring for our attention – the stuff we have and the stuff that we want to have.  This includes our “big things” and our “little things”.

Small changes related to our “stuff” can make a huge difference in how we experience life.  Some ideas:

  • Is your purchase a need or a want?
  • Can you donate some of your clothing or other possessions to a person or family in need, to charity, to a thrift store?
  • Can you sell some of your things that you no longer use (or serve you!) and then use that money for an experience you have always wanted?
  • Can you pack away some of your stuff for a specified time period? Try that and give yourself 6 months to a year and take note if you missed any of it.  Yes – by all means keep it.  No – time to let it go.

Here are some free and awesome gifts that you can “have more” of in your life by simply “having less”:

  • Freedom
  • Space
  • Clarity
  • Release/healing
  • Time
  • Focus
  • Inner peace
  • Happiness
  • Gratitude

Here’s to small, simple and good kind of changes!

In friendship,

Caron
